The Double Ninth Festival, one of the traditional folk festivals, is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. People like to climb mountains, enjoy the chrysanthemum blossom, carry dogwood branches, and eat Chong Yang Cake. Nowadays, the ninth day of the ninth month has become a special day for people to pay their respects to the elderly. Climbing Mountains for Autumn Enjoyment and Respecting the elderly are two major themes of the Double Ninth Festival.
In order to enhance the understanding of Chinese culture among international students and help them better understand traditional Chinese festival culture, the School of International Education holds two activities for the Double Ninth Festival.

Activity II: Call for Wishes to Family
ØWrite your wishes to your family in Chinese or English within 50 words, and attach a photo of your video call on the festival or a photo taken together with the elderly family members.
ØPls send your words and photos to the email atliushanshan@xjtu.edu.cnbefore 17:00 on October 10th, 2024.
Excellent words and photos will be posted on the official wechat account of the school. An honor certificate will be provided as well.
